When interviewing management companies, please take time to consider the following:

  • Will the company have the on-site presence you require?

  • Will they provide adequate direction to council?

  • Will they suggest ways to complete the required repairs and maintenance necessary at a lower cost or provide alternatives, or will they give the experts and contractors free rein?

  • Do they keep you apprised of government rebate programs for your upgrades?

  • Will they take time to question the way everything is done to make sure you are getting full value for all the services you have requested?

  • Are financial statements accurate and completed in a timely manner?

  • What is the workload of the company and your manager?

  • Are they a company which will take time out to question the invoices?

  • Are they available to deal with realtors and inspectors at the critical time when an owner is selling?

  • Are phone calls returned in a timely manner?

  • Are expectations met?

  • Are their systems computerized?

  • Are they accountable?
